#tbtPrimelite: Here’s another blast from Primelite’s past. We’re highlighting exclusive fixtures from our 1970s children’s series called “Juvenile Gems”. Our 1970s catalogs introduced a series of handcrafted childrens light fixtures which included characters such as the Tin Man, Raggedy Ann & Andy, and Clowns.
Primelite worked with a local artist who hand painted each face/globe. The fixtures were then hand constructed and assembled in our warehouse. These fixtures were primarily used in children’s bedrooms and were popular throughout the ’70s decade.

Primelite continues to do our part to help promote dark skies* with the release of our “Dark Sky Friendly” LED Post Light, #1198. The included LEDs are nestled in the fixture’s top, avoiding uplight light-spill, and helping to avoid any additional contribution to light pollution.
The Post Light #1198 offers a pleasant illumination and is perfect in any urban, suburban or commercial exterior situation. Parks, parking lots, walkways, town squares, sidewalks would all benefit from the cost saving of our LED streetlights.
Primelite’s Post Light #1198 is available with a choice of LEDs: LED40 (equal to 70w MH) and LED72 (175w MH). The fixture adds a sophisticated and classic form to your exterior installations, and fits any of our 3″ posts.

For use in both interior and exterior applications, our fashion forward globes were heavily influenced by the disco era and were constructed of polycarbonate and embedded with crackle chips creating their metallic finish. Available in the fashionable colors of the time, including green, gold, blue, red, and white. These globes were, and still are, the definition of “cool”!
