The #11037/16A isn’t a fixture with a fixed mounting style — it’s a shade that’s ready to pair with almost any gooseneck arm in Primelite’s lineup. The ½” IPS female top threads directly onto the ½” IPS male tip of your chosen arm, the 5′ pre-wired leads run back through the arm to its canopy, and the canopy handles the junction box connection. Same shade, completely different silhouettes depending on the arm you choose.
How the ½” IPS female top works
Most barn-style wall fixtures come as a unit — shade and arm together, one reach, one look. The #11037/16A takes a different approach: the shade is sold as the configurable element. Its ½” IPS female top is a standard thread that accepts the male tip of any ½” IPS gooseneck arm, giving you control over projection distance, mounting height, and the overall silhouette of the finished fixture.
The 5′ leads run through the arm itself to the arm’s canopy, which mounts to a standard 4″ octagonal junction box at the wall.
Primelite offers a wide range of ½” IPS gooseneck arms in aluminum — from compact short-reach arms to extended parapet and upward-curve configurations. Each one pairs with the 16A shade (depending on shade diameter and arm projection from the wall). See the full arm selection at primelite-mfg.com/product-category/gooseneck/arms/.
Specifications — the 16A shade
Arm dimensions — reach, height, drop, and projection — depend on the arm selected. Consult the arm spec sheet for overall fixture dimensions once an arm is chosen.
Choosing an arm
Primelite’s ½” IPS gooseneck arms cover a wide range of applications and silhouettes. A few of the most common pairings:
- Standard gooseneck arm
22″ reach with a classic single-bend profile. The most common barn light configuration for storefronts, building facades, and commercial entries. - Short-reach gooseneck arm
Compact arms in the 6″–14″ extension range work well on narrower facades, in covered corridors, or wherever projection needs to stay tight to the wall. - Parapet gooseneck arm
Designed to mount on a parapet wall rather than a flat vertical surface, with a loop configuration that drops the shade below the canopy level. - Curve-down arm
Positions the shade lower than the canopy — useful when the junction box is high on the wall and the light needs to be brought down to a more effective angle. - U-shape bend-back arm
A longer projection arm (24½” extension) with a back-bend geometry for signage illumination and wide-facade applications. - Gradual upward-curve arm
A 38″ arm with a gentle upward bend — suited to tall building facades where the shade needs significant standoff from the wall. - Double-light gooseneck arm
A two-light arm that accepts two shades on a single canopy and junction box. Pair with two 16A shades for bilateral wall coverage from one mounting point.
Every arm in the lineup is ½” IPS schedule 40 aluminum with a 4 1/8″ round canopy for a standard 4″ octagonal box, and each is available in the same 29 oven-baked powder coat finishes as the shade — so the arm and shade can be finished as a matched set.

Finish and powder coat options
The catalog shows the 16A in Black — a natural match for industrial, hospitality, and modern commercial applications. But because the shade and arm are finished separately as matched pieces, you have full color flexibility across both. Standard colors include White, Almond, Gray, Black, Black Gloss, Yellow, Orange, Red, Burgundy, Pink, Light Blue, Dark Blue, Navy Blue, Turquoise, Green, Hunter Green, Gold, Bronze Tone, and more. Custom colors are available on request. See the full color guide for the complete palette.
Where it works
- Commercial building facades and storefronts
The classic barn light silhouette in any reach length. Match the arm projection to the canopy height and façade depth. - Industrial and warehouse exterior walls
Higher-output LED options (LED 48, LED 88) deliver metal halide-equivalent light in a durable aluminum package. - Restaurants, breweries, and hospitality exteriors
Color options and arm silhouettes let the fixture reinforce the brand aesthetic rather than disappear into the wall. - Signage and canopy illumination
Longer-reach arms position the shade directly over signage panels, awnings, or entry canopies for precise downward wash. - Covered residential exteriors
Aluminum construction handles outdoor exposure. Works on garages, outbuildings, and covered porches where a barn light look is specified.
