#tbtPrimelite: We’re highlighting another page from a 1970s Primelite catalog featuring “The Amato Collection” of pendant lights. Manufactured of wrought iron in our Freeport, NY warehouse, these fixtures were available in some of the most fashionable 1970 colors, including avocado, mustard, red, blue, apple green and burnt orange.

Customize the fixtures with choice of socket cups

Further customize the fixtures with a choice of polished brass or chrome socket cups. These were the height of 1970s suburban home and dining elegance!

#then&now:  This week we are contrasting our 1970s “Amato Collection” pendant lights with the #161 Prismatic series from Primelite’s Pendant collection. Sleek and modern, the #161 pendants are available in brushed steel, polished brass, chrome, and painted colors. Prismatic shades available in acrylic or polycarbonate. Suspension choices include cord, stem, chain and telephone cord. (catalog B, page 3)

Continuing with our #tbt catalog exploration, this week we’re featuring a page from a 1960s Primelite catalog highlighting our “Woodline Series” of pendant & ceiling lights. Constructed of “polished” walnut wood, brass, and octagonal glass shades embellished with 22k gold-leaf designs. These fixtures were the height of 1960s suburban home elegance!

What’s the Buzzzzz! Primelite #427/16-1871

“While strolling through the park one day
In the merry merry month of May
I was taken by surprise
What a sight to my eyes
Up high a Primelite #427/16-1871! “

 

Ok. So we weren’t quite “strolling through” a park. And it sure wasn’t May! And, yes, our poetry is awful. But one of our eagle-eyed scouts did spot something “up high” while on a stroll through Princeton, NJ. High above a lovely garage. Yes, “a garage!” High above the garage door was our exterior fixture #427/16-1871! In a beautiful copper finish. Which, BTW, complemented the finish of the building quite nicely. 

Though not as showy as some of our past sightings, we are still happy to see our fixtures helping to light the way. Whether it’s a gym, cafe, retail establishment, or even a garage, Primelite is your lighting fixture source.

Introducing The Industrial Series

The Industrial Series by Primelite Mfg is one of our newest collections and was designed with versatility in mind. Deliver a contemporary industrial feeling to any space with the series’ exposed pipe-like arms and its “Crossed Tees” and “Elbows.” This series brings a mix and match sensibility to commercial lighting design enabling you to choose among the parts and accessories to create the customized fixture you need. Whether its a simple one light wall fixture or a ceiling mounted multi-light fixture, the Industrial Series from Primelite is the answer.

Starting with the same arm, “Crossed Tee” and “Elbows” here are examples of how a few simple choices can bring a unique and personal look to your commercial space.

Primelite fixture #58/122. This simple ceiling mounted 2 light fixture starts with the addition of 2 – #58 cans in black. Not the right size cans? We actually have 3 sizes to choose from – #57, #58 and #59.

By exchanging the cans for 2 – #28 Bullets you now have Primelite fixture # 28/122. Again we offer 3 sizes of the bullets – #18, #28 and #38.

Replace the bullets with “Jelly Jars” and “Wire Guards” and you have Primelite fixture #26/122-4WG.

Not interested in a ceiling mounted fixture? Easily turn the fixture into a wall mount with the addition of one of our wall brackets.

And finally, customize you fixtures even more by choosing from 5 different “Jelly Jars”, shades and more than 25 colors of paint! The “Jelly Jars” are available in blue, red, amber, frosted and clear. The “Jelly Jars” pair perfectly with the Wire Guard for a fun industrial look.
