Introducing The Industrial Series

The Industrial Series by Primelite Mfg is one of our newest collections and was designed with versatility in mind. Deliver a contemporary industrial feeling to any space with the series’ exposed pipe-like arms and its “Crossed Tees” and “Elbows.” This series brings a mix and match sensibility to commercial lighting design enabling you to choose among the parts and accessories to create the customized fixture you need. Whether its a simple one light wall fixture or a ceiling mounted multi-light fixture, the Industrial Series from Primelite is the answer.

Starting with the same arm, “Crossed Tee” and “Elbows” here are examples of how a few simple choices can bring a unique and personal look to your commercial space.

Primelite fixture #58/122. This simple ceiling mounted 2 light fixture starts with the addition of 2 – #58 cans in black. Not the right size cans? We actually have 3 sizes to choose from – #57, #58 and #59.

By exchanging the cans for 2 – #28 Bullets you now have Primelite fixture # 28/122. Again we offer 3 sizes of the bullets – #18, #28 and #38.

Replace the bullets with “Jelly Jars” and “Wire Guards” and you have Primelite fixture #26/122-4WG.

Not interested in a ceiling mounted fixture? Easily turn the fixture into a wall mount with the addition of one of our wall brackets.

And finally, customize you fixtures even more by choosing from 5 different “Jelly Jars”, shades and more than 25 colors of paint! The “Jelly Jars” are available in blue, red, amber, frosted and clear. The “Jelly Jars” pair perfectly with the Wire Guard for a fun industrial look.

We’re Featured: The Good Shepherd

Oh Hollywood you tease us! Starring alongside DeNiro, Damon and Jolie, our humble Primelite #39/19 makes a special appearance in the film The Good Shepherd. Once again we have been called upon to brighten the day, and night, of a major Hollywood film.

“The Good Shepherd is a 2006 spy film produced and directed by Robert De Niro and starring Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie and De Niro, with an extensive supporting cast…Although it is a fictional film loosely based on real events, it is advertised as telling the untold story of the birth of counter-intelligence in the Central Intelligence Agency.” *

LED-ing The Way

“As the 20th century was lighted by incandescent bulbs, the next hundred years is likely to be dominated by LED lamps…” *

 

Back in the 1990’s the work of 3 Japanese scientists led to the invention of the blue light-emitting diode, or LED. Last week the The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences awarded the 2014 Nobel Prize in Physics to those 3 scientists – Isamu Akasaki, Hiroshi Amano, and Shuji Nakamura.

“This year’s Nobel Laureates are rewarded for having invented a new energy-efficient and environment-friendly light source – the blue light-emitting diode (LED). In the spirit of Alfred Nobel the Prize rewards an invention of greatest benefit to mankind; using blue LEDs, white light can be created in a new way. With the advent of LED lamps we now have more long-lasting and more efficient alternatives to older light sources…The invention of the blue LED is just twenty years old, but it has already contributed to create white light in an entirely new manner to the benefit of us all.”**

We’re Featured: Gotham

Primelite's featured on TVs Gotham 

We recently had a guest starring role in the new TV series Gotham! Well actually a number of Primelite’s white globes were the stars. Appearing in a dark and moody scene our #284-3 globes shone brightly in support of the actors and actresses of the show. Can a recurring role be far behind? Inquiring minds want to know?

Gotham is an American crime television series…based on characters appearing in and published by DC Comics in their Batman franchise, primarily those of Detective James Gordon and Bruce Wayne. Gotham… premiered on September 22, 2014.*

We’ve been thinking, and what better topic for the subject of our next blog post than our fabulous Primelite Posts!!!  Get it? Got it? Good!

Customization: One Shade Many Ways

From billiard room to barnside our light fixtures can be customized to  meet your needs.  A good example of our customization is Shade Series 23 (cat. # 23/14) which can, and has, been used to fill the lighting needs in a wide variety of uses. The photo shows one of our customized lighting fixtures being used in the home.  We used 3 of the shades in copper along with customized steel bars to give a bright but homey feeling to this billiard room.

We’ve also used this shade as the basis of this light designed to be used on the outside a barn. Featuring the same shade #23 ,we customized this fixture to create the perfect outdoor light. The all aluminum fixture was painted and finished by our client.

Shown in black gloss this versatile shade can also be used as a pendant light, both in residential and commercial applications. The light fixture can be mounted flush to the ceiling or with the addition of a cord or metal stem can used as a hanging pendant. The stems are available in lengths up to 12 feet.
