#tbtPrimelite: While combing through the Primelite archives, we came across a series of original black and white photographs from our 1960 catalogs. Among the photos was this brass “pull down” or “pulley” pendant. A true representative of the space-age aesthetic of the time. With a 1960s modern design, this “pull-down” fixture would be at home in any contemporary retro installation.

This week we’re #tbt-ing a page from one of our 1970s Primelite catalogs, featuring our Victorian “Gaslamp by Primelite” series. Reflecting the last century’s growing re-interest in Victorian styling, our Gaslamps captured the spirit, and feeling, of the old-time lighting. Updated with modern materials and finishes, the series was available in Old English Brass, Antique Gold, Antique White, as well in special antique finishes. The Gaslamp series featured old-skool style glass globes and shades in updated colors. You can be sure these Gaslamps brightened many homes, restaurants, offices, dens and playrooms throughout the decade.

#tbtPrimelite: This week’s #tbt is a shout-out to the coolness that was the 1980’s. With a palette of grays, turquoise, and dusty pinks, chrome  was the perfect accent. Primelite, never far from the fashions of the time, introduced a collection of lights for the hippest trendsetters of the decade. Among its collection was this spectacular pendant, appropriately called “Sputnik,” available in sparking metallic finishes; brushed nickel, polished brass and, of course, chrome! With its clear decorative globe lights, this light glistened and glowed, as it filled many sophisticated and stylish homes and offices with light.

#thenandnow: Today Primelite’s catalog still features an updated version of this beauty, known as #70 Sputnik.
